Found it already done. I was looking for a birthday cake for her too, but didn't think she'd enjoy it since she's nauseous.

How come the chickens dont eat the flys ?

Would you want to eat something that's been feeding on your own poo? Mine do try, but they aren't fast enough. Muscovies are supposed to be good at catching them.

I have a 6+ yr old hen who has quit eating. She's been hanging out away from the others during the day. I started feeding her separately, wet feed, and she's been gobbling it down. She hardly weighs anything, keel bone is bare of muscle, and her comb is starting to flop over. Now after a few days of special feeding, she has perked up quite a bit. Look what I've started... old age hen home.
