This is gonna be a dill pickling week---green beans, okra, cucumber sandwich slices, eggs, green mators. Im already tired & have just started.

Sounds delicious. Do you ever do pickled beets?

Well, sad story time. I am not sure what brought this to mind today.
My nephew was 17 yrs. and went out with some friends One of them being a legal older adult. He drove my nephew and his friend to a liquor store and bought them booze. Later in the evening this man puts the keys to his van in my nephews hands and says, I am too drunk to drive, you drive. Being 17 he was on top of the world. Til he hit the medium and sent the van airborn. Ohh no worries, he was ok as was everyone else in the van. The car he landed on however took the life of a beautiful young mom of 3 . My nephew finished growing up in prison, the man that owned the van and bought the booze walked away free and even sat on the victims side of the court room. My nephew did his time. Like 15 yrs. but never grew up mentally . He kinda froze at 17. He was so young and pretty I dont need to say what happened to him in prison. 3 children grew up cheated of a mother.
Moral of the story, When I say dont drink and drive, The life you save may be mine .
Remember this story. It only takes a split second of stupidity to change a whole familys future.

How sad is that? Not sure how the adult in the situation got off scot-free. Bad district attorney did not bring charges or worse, made a deal with the man to make sure the kid was convicted. Nephew did not have good representation.

Howdy ! Slept til 2pm. Man Im getting good at these 12 hr shifts. No wonder my back hurts. Best bed in the world aint gonna cover you laying flat for 12 hrs. Poor Bandit. All of them really but he goes in a crate at night. I didnt think he would ever stop peeing . He even hiked his leg for that one. Then he ran and played and barked through the house for a good 45 mins. I let him go full force. 3 new tennis balls and only one mouth. Whats a dog to do ? Not share thats for sure. LOL
Meanwhile, Tom sits in silence because he cant put his own hearing aid in his ear. That really makes me feel bad. Said he checked on me a few times . Wish he had woke me up.

Wishing, The roo is alive and well . He is flying to the top of the big coop to sleep and even has a buddy. I didnt know they could fly. Even with no tail feathers. hahahaaa

Star, glad mother nature came a calling. Just look at it this way, You missed /we missed, a whole 5 days of you being a crab !

Cap, you probably used it all.

Breakfast was good !

That was my conclusion, i must have used it in the lean-to. I will put it on my list of things to get.

Outside shower, moderately cool, any takers? I was outside working and i am sure the tools got wet. At least my phone stayed dry. My clothes are pretty soaked though. I was going to take the tarp off the turkey run to cover what i was working on and move the 2 sheets of metal over, but it was just so wet i needed to put the tools away. Made a run for it in the Mule.

Just got a flood warning for our area. I am glad i don't have anywhere i need to be.
Heating up clam chowder for supper. Help ward off the dampness from being soaked.

Wishing, Is pickled beets what they put in greek salads ? I like those.
I got a rash. thought it was a sun rash but its on my back and itchy.

I like playing in the rain. Long as its not a real cold one.
