I use shavings in the coops and leaves , straw, or cheap hay in the runs. Sometimes people want to get rid of last years hay so they sell it cheap.

shavings dont last long in my run. . IDK I just like them better. Plus the hay/straw here is cut grass and MG /CRD hides in that.

I have enough cut grass in my yard to fill 3 coops. hahahaa

I’d need a 4-5 bags of shavings for the run ($6 per bag) or half a bale of straw ($2.50-$5 bale). Straw usually wins because of price lol although I still buy shavings for the coop.

It squirted before you had a chance to bite it ? Thats the best kind.

Thats what I need for one run. The other not 5 ft. away never floods. Go figure. LOL

I use hay for the chickens and guineas, and cut grass or sand in the quail nest boxes.
