Best sports medicine dr in town told me to alternate heat and ice packs to promote healing. Heat helps relax the muscles around the injury, but the cold reduces the swelling so you can increase blood flow to the area. You need good blood flow for the healing to happen. For me, cold works better. Getting the swelling down helps the pain a lot.Idk, i have not been up yet to check. Setting here with heat pack on my back.
