Granny's gone and done it again

Josie was crying so we went out. Jewel hit the porch full-bore, baying like a hound and pacing. Of course my glasses had fogged and I couldn’t see a thing, but I could smell the skunk. I guess she startled it because I caught a second, stronger wave when I passed the truck. No hint of it at the coops.

The special duck is still with us. She(?) has learned to sit still so I can pick her up and put her in the coop at night. She used to run and then bite me when I caught her.

Nasty looking
I soaked it in an epsom salts bath for 10 minutes. She was very good about it. Then i cut it open and pressed on it but nothing would come out. When i got done, she had prolapsed. So i pushed that back in. Wrapped her foot up and put her in the hospital cage in the workshop. Its warmer than the barn. Might take the heating pad out there.

Alley...hugs. This is one of the reasons I hate the for profit healthcare system here. :/
Yeah I don't understand why people are against "single payer" health care for all. So many people don't get insurance from work so they do without healthcare. Then there are the people on Medicare who say they don't like single payer because they don't want the government running their health insurance :lau:gig

Yeah, we pay about double that for my husband and I through his work.
We pay about $8K a year for Federal Blue Cross Blue Shield.

this is what I bought the baby today. Has fake sugar in it.
:sick

Here is the foot of my poor quail hen.
I've been lucky to not have any birds with bumblefoot (insert "knocking on wood" emoji here). But from what I've read you can usually cure it by soaking the foot in Epsom salts and pulling the scab when it is soft. Then you have to do what you can to get the "seed" out. May take many treatments.
