Granny's gone and done it again

Upstairs in his room and I ask for the better bed . Nurse brings waffle mattress . umm Nope, that wont work. She promised to have the good bed before Tom came back and had to lay flat and she did. No complaints there. They prepped him and took us down stairs. My "waiting room" was the cafeteria w/ solid wood chairs. Nope, I am going back to his room and you can contact me there. They did. Dr called his room to explain how everything went.

So, outside of the annoyances he did good?

Dr was only able to stent one blockage that was 100% blocked and all the others were hardened arteries unable to be fixed but he has blood flow. His other leg is exactly the same problem . Fixed at a later date AND by one of his collages .
So I went out to smoke and when I got back all hell had broke loose.

We were told to go to the basement to register @5:30 . It was empty so scrambling through the hospital we found someone to help. She was pissy . After signing everything she then gives me a paper saying drs come in from different hospitals that may not accept insurance and to check out insurance to see if it will be paid for. A little late I would say. Then she ask me why dont I let Tom sign his own papers ? He is a grown man . I said because he cant read. I said make sure you dont leave this room with out me Tom and told her I would be right back.She said well hurry up I have other things to do. I said yes Maam I will be back in less then 5 mins.
20 mins later I came back and said ok, I am ready now. Not another word from her.

They had over a month to figure out the insurance. Not your problem. Someone is slacking in that office.

Hi all, Long day and lots of problems but surgery was a success despite the problems and there were many

yay for success!

So I went out to smoke and when I got back all hell had broke loose.

At least they can't blame it on you. You weren't there.
Hope Tom was not freak out by hell breaking loose.

Tom was already in pain and a man stood there pressing on Toms groin. Seems like the dr thought it a good idea to give him the blood thinner heparin. 3 hrs that man stood there. Tom now has a pretty large hematoma at the groin. Possible will need drained. I couldnt stand Tom being in pain and I insisted the dr come to check him. He immediately ordered a reversel drug for the heprin and morphine. Nurse shoots it in and Tom , laying flat on his back starts puking

I may have got mad at that point. Nurse just standing there and man pressing on him. I said Well, what are you going to do. Keep your hand on him so he dont bleed out or roll him so he dont choke on his own vomit ? Man pressed harder and nurse rolled him. The rest of this long day was spent with him crying in pain or getting sick from the meds. They added anti nausea meds. Did not help.
Then Tom starts complaining about his stomach pain. I am picturing him bleeding out in there. He had to lay an extra 3 hrs because of the hematoma and I finally drifted off at 4. It seems I was too tired to wake up 15 mins later I wake up and Tom has to pee. Said he called me many times then threw a wet wash cloth and hit me in the face w it.

It was finally time to leave nurse pulls IV and tapes him. I am dressing him and notice we have a squirter. I grabbed the wash cloth, applied pressure then called for nurse. another hematoma . anyway, anti climatic but finally home . Robert brought Tom in via wheelchair and waited on him til he went to sleep . Made him food and prepared his insulin and I still havent slept.
