Granny's gone and done it again

When I bought those silkies in December I didn’t realize til later they had bands. The one was grown into a leg. They were teeny tiny bands.

I used zip ties. I try to put them on loosely but if its too loose it falls off.

I ended up getting pieces of hardware cloth and cutting them to size for the eaves. The top of the run stops on the back of the coop about a foot down from the roof, so a critter could climb up the run and have access to the eaves. Plus the run is more than 10 feet wide, so 2 pieces of 5 foot tall welded wire will not quite cover it. Going to run a board accross and tack the wire to it.

So I’m cleaning the whole coop. It’s 90 in there with the door and window open. I’m on wheelbarrow load #4.

Assistant came home and Josie went to her. She wouldn’t get in the van, I had to pick her up and carry her. She’s resting now. That was a few hours ago.

Same here. 10 yrs living squirrel-less and now I get scolded for walking in "their" backyard.

My barn cat makes a short order out of squirrels. I found one in the chicken with its head gone.

Sorry, I meant in the chicken pen. I love my barn cat, it is only the male that hunts. People told me it would be the opposite.
