Granny's gone and done it again

Not much here. Bubba stayed home with fever and malaise. He said his throat and head hurt. Temp is staying 101 or lower, so not that bad. I’ve been cleaning coops today, two days behind the weather. I took Josie out and instead of sticking with me she ran the opposite direction, straight into the fence. :barnie She went into the azalea thicket and wouldn’t come to me, not even for the yummy chicken skin. DH finally went in and just picked her up, and hauled her out. She was traumatized.

Awww. Poor Bubba and poor Josie. You'd think she'd figure out it is the fence, but she obviously thinks it's you. Make sure you don't say a word next time she gets near it.

Hopefully she has plenty of blankets
I don't know if that would be enough. Maybe add some dogs on top and snuggle up with Tom too. He'll be too cold without heat.

wishing, I can make the snowmen forget all about not having noses, I will just tell them a snow-BLOWER will be around latter. :D:oops:
groooooan? You were reaching on that one! :D

It is terrible here. Red warning and isnt going away.
I was worried about that. We had decent days yesterday and today, but that means the smoke went elsewhere. Rain sure would be nice. Take care, Julie.

Hope granny is staying warm. Maybe bandit is snuggling with her lol

Well I got a CCL egg that’s smaller than a silkie egg! This is her 2nd egg technically. Found a frozen yolk yesterday.
I'm kind of hoping they went to her DDs or maybe a shelter or some place with heat. I think it will be too cold at her house without power.
Did you get the ice storm too?

we were out about a week from a ice storm once. Single digit temps. I think Kat was a puppy then. It sucked but extra clothes and blankets helped.

Yes. But the roads were fine and we have electric. Lots of flooding though.
I seen on the news this morning that a lot are without power. I know a lady I work with said that hers went out last night and her husband messaged her at noon today to say they just turned it back on.

Do you have a fireplace or anything for heat? My wood burning stove is my security blanket, and we rarely get below freezing. Granny has a fireplace, but don't think she has anything to burn.

We are having him fill out a couple more applications, but that's where he wants to go. He fell in love with Bozeman.
Why? If he already got into his first choice, and has apparently already visited to see it in person, more applications are a waste of your money and their time.

Same in CA, but a few years ago the govt made a law that a gas station cannot charge for air. I don't like being charged for it, but I don't think the business owner should be told what to do. There is a cost to purchasing and maintaining an air compressor. They just raise gas prices to cover it. :hmm
Good reason to let them charge for air then. I can probably count on 1 hand the number of times I've aired up tires other than at home. Don't need to pay more for gas to provide free air to others.

Oh wow. Cant wait to see it. I didnt know there was another Yertle besides Alleys
You don't know about Dr. Suess's Yertle the Turtle???
I bet it is remotely possible Alley's Yertle is named after Dr. Suess's Yertle

Went to do carrots (way late, to much other stuff/life got in way) and they are frozen in the ground :he:he guess I will till them in next spring for compost. Can't even did them up to feed to the yaks :th
Do you have a garden fork? The ground shouldn't be frozen too far down, shove the garden for straight down next to the row and pry. I bet you can get them out. They are supposed to be sweeter after they have seen freezing temps.

So I chase him around and he’s just tangled up in string. It wasn’t bad except one toe, which he might lose.
Glad he's back, toe doesn't look too bad. Hopefully he won't use it.

It goes up fine with a push of the button but seems to have seizures when closing and stops and reverses depending on its mood.
Often happens if the track gets a bit out of line (check that all the brackets are tight) or just needs a bit of grease.

It's always good to have a back up plan! Additionally, he started other applications and had his test scores sent, so fees have already been paid. And finally, he should apply to the one school that would actually be a challenge for him. If he got in, it would be a boost to his confidence, and if he doesn't he will know he needs to work harder.

yes tried that no budging and had to actually jump into the air and land on the fork to drive it into the ground. And I sure as heck am NOT going to temp fate for 40 feet of carrots. Plus I still could NOT wiggle/jiggle/plead/ or pry the buggers out.

BUT yes the carrots are MUCH sweeter :drool after a few freezes.

no rest for the wicked. No sooner had I started to doze off and my Bother (sp intentionally) called and wanted to tank, fine. Second and third attempts the phone would ring robo calls looking for people that haven't stayed here in YEARS and no option to get a "live" person and tell them where to shove their robots.
