How much space do Yaks need? I am really curious as to how Yak's milk tastes. If we move to Missouri or Wyoming we are looking to get a much bigger place. If we stay here it will be until the youngest turns 18 and then it will be selling this place and move to something just for DH and I.

you can keep 2 to 4 adult yaks on the same acreage as one regular sized cow. I have never milked mine. (no death wish here) Check out IYAK.org lots of great information. Yak meat is healthier for you then chicken breast. NO grain needed.

Probably the more space they have the less feed you will need to buy, especially if cross fenced and managed well.

They need a lot less than cattle. I don’t think you can milk them easily.

truly depends on just how tame you have them. Mine are not that tame , well maybe Sue in a few years.
