yeah bottle calves end up with a stunted body and pot bellies. Do they have loose minerals to get to? They will probably never be the size of normal bulls. Might get 1/2 that size. Have you castrated them yet? They sure are cute though. Hope you can keep them.

What kind of minerals? I don’t know how much longer I can keep Beaux with them. I’d like them to stay together but their nutrition might be too different? Every time I look it up I can’t really get a good answer.

DH told me the other day that he missed our speckled Sussex. He said he preferred them to all the others. Maybe I’ll order some this year. I’ve never gotten chicks in the mail.

I miss my nugget. I need to get more of those in my next batch.

Generally crowing comes a LONG time before laying. If it is 4+ months old and hasn't crowed I'd bet on pullet.

i dunno. My lorp hasn’t crowed yet. Perhaps he’s a mute.

If you let it sit 24 hours the chlorine should evaporate and it should be fine to use for them.

Everything I read said not to use it ever. I hate the taste of city water. Miss my well water so much.

Well i used city water for exotic birds and raised babies, they had no issues. You could get bottled gallons of spring water.

I did buy one fact I bought two. They didn’t come til after the rain and smoke was gone. I did keep the better one.
