maybe you needed pest snails lol they reproduce like mice and eat algae.
I had ramhorns and they were always having babies! Clean tank too.

Yep. A lot of people are using sand instead of gravel now. Apparently black sand is very in at the moment. I still like gravel better.

we used to use WELL washed chicken grit the #2 size if I remember right. CHEAP and natural looking.

I was "banned" from many of their site for months last year as I didn't know better and TBH that was the only reason I joined in the first place.
