Granny's gone and done it again

Oh , what are sweet potatoe glass noodles?
They are Asian style, thin glass noodles (kind of clear) that are made from sweet potato starch. One of my favorite noodles. My hubs' mom had some and that's were I first tried them. We get them dried at an Asian market. Nummy num num!

its been 2 yrs since you got littles ? Dont seem like it.
Yes, they were laying eggs when we had to evacuate during the 2017 fire.

It seems like you have a nice menagerie as well. Good luck with that hawk! Better safe than sorry!
Yes. I feed them chopped kale to make up for the lack of greens. The hens really crave it.
Never used to have hawks in the yard, but after my big dog died 2 summers ago, they have started coming around. Little hawks, they are mostly after the quail, which are about the same size as the Seramas. Belle the dog, was fanatical about keeping quail out of the yard for some reason... she was good with the chickens, so maybe trying to protect them from the non-chickens? Anyhow, after she died, the quail moved back in and brought the hawks. Luckily, they are too small to bother with the mob, so the big girls can still roam around.

naw, just trying to crack a joke. I would name mine but seems like every time I do get a favorite and name it it dies. So I stopped. LOL
Wishing used to teach as well.
I name all of mine precisely so there is no favorite. You have too many!

Sounds like you need another pooch! We have 2 bird dogs....yup! I know, kind of an oxymoron when owning chickens! But they came BEFORE my flock! They would be my birds’ worst predators, but they keep everything else away. My flock doesn’t free range unless the 2 dogs are inside. We live in the wooded country, so free ranging full-time would be a disaster!

I want meat birds this year. Tyson has had even more recalls.

Also a snail hatched granny! It looks clear with spots so far. Very tiny! Others are close to hatching.
We looked again today at petsmart. I mentioned it to my daughter. She said what? A snail as a pet, I don’t think she can handle much more.

Sweet ! I read only 4-5 will hatch out of a full sac. Will be interested to find out how true that is.
Them meat birds Love you without even trying. Mine would jump on my hands and sit there when I tried to do anything. Wanted to be held.
