Granny's gone and done it again

How old were they?
1 1 year old EE and and 2 2 year old BR.
All are laying large eggs but I’m trying to stick with dark legged color layers. Plus my feed bill has been so high lately! I have half a can left of feed and 150lbs fills it. Not to mention the goat, rabbit and chick feed.

Thank you

Thanks, yes, more traumatic for me than him, I think.

She seems better and ate some egg and bird seed, so there's hope.

No, we don't use anything like that. All the work on the motorcycles is out front and he doesn't have access.
Hope you feel better. Those dang kid germs are tough.
I wasn’t sure if the city sprayed or not. We had that happen up in Columbus. They sprayed, but didn’t tell us or put the flags up. We had a couple dogs walk in the grass and almost immediately have seizures.

Scooter had a second seizure at 8 this morning. It wasn't as long as the first, under a minute, but after, he started coughing, more coughing than the first time earlier. This time he coughed up bloody mucus. :hmm

So, off to the emergency vet. They don't know what is causing the seizures, tested normal for all the tests they did (blood and xrays). Neurologist said it could be brain tumors or meningitis (brain swelling) or even epilepsy, but that is unlikely due to the late onset. (Scooter is over 9yrs) The bloody mucus was from pulmonary edema, caused by the seizures. He was coughing while I talked with the neuro dr, and even obliged the man by hacking up a little blob of pink bloodiness. They kept him for treatment overnight. He was in an oxygen tent when I left since his respiration was high. They are giving him meds for both the edema and the seizures, and they are also starting him on antibiotics since he's at high risk of pneumonia and there was a little shadow on the xray. They want him to be stable before he comes home. Vet wasn't sure he'd survive another seizure without oxygen support, so treating the lung edema is the priority. I should get him back tomorrow.
I hope everything turns out ok. Poor guy has had a ruff time. :hugs

Oh No ! I am so sorry Lynda. Poor scooter. Im glad he has you. I bet you are wore out.
I am beat for sure. So tired from not sleeping and #2 drove us over to the emergency vet. He didn't mind missing school. Vet's was slammed too... lots of emergencies this morning. Was there over 4 hours.

side of my knee and up higher on my thigh. Gone now but feels odd. Vein still there.
Have you slept ? How are the boys ?
eek, could that be a blood clot?

No sleep. I will probably pass out pretty soon.

That's terrible. We are outside city limits and I don't think there is any spraying program at all. Too many lawyers around waiting to file lawsuits!

Yes, he was a little bewildered. The vet tech ladies all said he was sweet and sooo cute... maybe he will get a little extra attention. I didn't even go back to see him. Did want to upset him. The vet said he wished more owners would think of that. They said Scooter was calm, sitting up and wagging at everyone in his o2 tent. He'll charm them all. :)

I just had the most God awful pains . Robert was asking to call hospital. Scared him I guess. Made my whole body jerk.Gave me headache. No idea what it was but big vein popped up close to there now.
Hope you are ok!

That is scary, hoping for the best possible outcome.
