Weather here has been awful. Power went out around 9 this morning. We went to town for breakfast, and the health inspector was there.

Food was fine, they messed up everything Sarah ordered. But she got to keep the extras.
Matt and Sarah drove around town catching Pokémon on their phones. I was bored to death. Went to Fred’s and picked up clearance Easter florals and cat food. Went to a fancy boutique and made a wishlist for mother’s day.
Got home, still no power. Called the company and she said because the dining hall had power, but the houses didn’t, that it was not their problem and we had to call an electrician. DH got on the phone to shake people down when the trucks rolled up. They made a thing on the transformer hook to another thing, and the lights were back.
The hona cock is still babysitting everyone. I guess I should give him a name.
There are crazy hidden nests at the farm. no idea who is laying all these eggs. I checked Peachy and heard cheeping, but no babies so they must just be pipped. Marilyn has flattened back down her eggs, hope they’re not too delayed. Some had jiggly aircells, so quite a bit of tousling was going on in her nest. Anyway, this one is new since yesterday.
I took pics of a few of the babies so we can guess parentage.
Hens: two giant cochins (splash), two leghorn/legbars of varying generations (Isabella coloring), two dominique, one buff Orpington. One cochin is very old and almost never lays. Other cochin and the orp are broody.
Cocks: either spearmint or oe (White with red shoulders, beard and muffs, deceased), bantam cochin (calico), and Svart hona (melanistic).
The only feather-shanked birds are the giant cochin hens (splash) and the banty cochin roo (calico). I’m guessing it’s from the roo, because the other cocks were the big white one, and the hona. This chick is one of the biggest.
Also feather shanked. It is smaller.
Two chicks have muffs, but not beards.
Josie was eyeballing those chicks like they were snacks.
