Granny's gone and done it again

well that chicken wire is an accident just waiting to happen. We are dry and ground is hard and cracked. What do you think did it ? I seen tire tracks in the yard on the other side of Toms cabin. Maybe we got vampires.
Not mower tracks? Who would be driving on your property? I don't like that.

What could have got the chickens... Weasel is the first thing I think when a whole lot are killed at once, but they just leave the extras dead, uneaten. Raccoons are strong enough to pull the wire up and they will dig. If they had all night, they might have eaten that much... mama and big youngsters. Fox is possible. Mostly what I hear is fox will take the prey away. Possible fox parents were training kits to hunt... easy pickings at night once they find their way in. Did you see any hairs caught in the fence? What other predators do you have there?
It's horrible to think of dying like that. Life in the wild can be brutal.

All of the above ? Man that took the chickens said signs were pointing to coons and in the big coop they got in from the top. I have chicken wire there too.
If you have grey fox there, they can climb as well as raccoons. Can zip up a tree like a squirrel. Getting out might have been trickier depending on where the entry was.

Too far apart for mower. I dont like it either.
These were mostly all eaten. There was even some bits hanging from the roost where it was eaten up there. 2 were not that was dead but they finished them up the next night while also breaking into the big coop. Struck me odd that the survivors of the small coop were the ones they took in the LC. I have pictures but didnt figure anyone wants to see that. I never seen any hair. I didnt look real good.

Late last night I opened the bag of fish. (I let them float for a couple hours) 1 had what looked like fungus and raised scales. It was dead this morning. The others are swimming around good though. And no signs of fungus on them.
Do you have aquarium salt in your water?
