Thanks. The filter is large and holes all around. Maybe I should swap filters for the one w/ just a tube. Thats in my angels tank. see this one. those slots at the bottom and on mine they go all the way around . Whole filter goes in the tank. Also it has a TON of hard water crud on it. What can I scrub with?

maybe vinegar and a toothbrush

good, Lena went up the stairs by herself today. Hopped up with both hind legs in unison. Funny to watch but hay what ever works.
