We are all hoping nothing happens to your birds!Okay so what the gossip is from Facebook is that someone brought birds in from a quarantine zone and that’s the bird that was positive. They’re doing euthanasia orders but how big of a buffer zone they’re doing - I’m not sure. It’s on the other end of town so hopefully they keep it contained.
Guess my little cockerels stay put for now.

Sorry Jane, I hate when the littles die.Cooking meatloaf again cause dh is home & it's his fav. One of the NH red chicks died. I think the others smothered it. It was in the corner.
I actually built a round quail chick brooder in TN, but the feral dogs busted in and killed all of them. I used that stuff they coat counters with and the dogs were not deterred.I remember reading somewhere about chicks getting smothered it always happens in corners of brooders and if you put cardboard or flexibility plastic in each corner making it round off instead you can stop that from happening.
Did the morphine help any? Thanks Jane. I am feeling a little rough
Hope it is contained!Alright. So the positive result is 3.5 miles as the crow flies from me.
So far it’s 200 meters from a positive result gets euthanized, and quarantine/testing is 1km. I find it odd they’re doing in metric but whatever. I’m around 5km from the positive.
It is official. It’s in Ramona.

I really really hope it’s just an isolated case.Hope it is contained!
