They are carnivores...they control the population. I have moss for them to hid in. They still ate some of them.
Its hard to get your hands on something nice w/o being able to order them.You could try for a unique new color or pattern. Something fancy that would be hard to find and sell for a bit more.
Feed them mosquito larva
I mix their food up. Flakes, dried blood worms, frozen brine shrimp, algae wafers.They are carnivores...
What do you feed yours?
That teacher had a big tank, loads of plants floating, 3-4 males and assorted females. Little babies of all sizes zipping around. Very cool and fun to watch. I'm sure some got eaten, but plenty survived.

They have red ones like those yllow too.
I dug some type of grass at the creek and put it underwater in a vase here and its starting to sprout new stems. Thats exciting because it mans yes, it will grow as a submerged plant. Between that and the Java moss I will have tons of hiding spots.![]()
