Is the Dexters for size or the fact they are a dual purpose for meat and milk? or are they going to be used as oxen???

It is a mix of things. Their size played into it as I am short and taller cattle are harder for me to handle. That they are a meat and milk breed helps as I am feeding a small army and being able to do it all in one is a great help. They are able to forage on poorer forage. They have very good maternal instincts. And we may use them for pulling as well.

We are being picky about what we will bring here. I am limited on what I can bring as we currently have less than 10 acres.

I finally did get up enough energy to go outside and catch chickens. Both of the fugitives were hens. One was the one that had wandered down to the floodplain of the river the other day. So no more free ranging until I can figure out how to keep them in the chicken yard.
Feeling very tired and sore today. Almost as bad as when I had Lyme disease. Sigh.

Thanks Cap, Hows your day going ?
