getting towards winter weather for the next few day. and me with out my MAIN bed heater.

honestly I am not sure, Mom's recipe calls for 2 lbs BUT I think I double that. Christmas gift for Rod and Robert.

They freeze really well. she even wrote that on the recipe LOL

that's dried great northern and I do a mix with navy as well. Have to soak them over night with a little baking soda and then boil the next day with soda again until almost/just tender. The soda pulls out some of the "musical notes" and then into oven with the sauce , ham bones and meat and what not. Bake until you are satisfied.

She did that for all of us kids when she figured she wasn't going to beat cancer a second time, wrote out her favorite and then ours favorite recipes and but in boxes , we all got them for the last Christmas she was with us.
