If he's worried about the pain could they knock him out for awhile so his body can get used to the extra flow?

Its the arthritis in his back. He hasnt laid flat in many years except for last time this was done. Morphine wouldnt touch it. Good bed didnt help. They have to lay flat for about 8 hrs if I remember right. He just cant. I think a spinal block maybe ? I am going to ask. way less dangerous

That sounds like a good idea. There has to be something they can do besides opioids.
