Granny's gone and done it again

I have had a dry cough for a couple weeks not which is a change from my smokers cough but no other symptoms. Most I am scared about is people refusing me into the hospital w/Tom or him getting it. He has COPD too. Roberts lungs seem to be in good shape but he takes steroids too for his crones. I Think that makes us compromised ??
Yes, stroke, heart attack, circulation problems, COPD, smoking, diabetes... all can make extra problems if you get this.
So don't get it! Wash, don't touch!!

When I was working in Ga. my ex would take my check and I would dig in sofas til I found 5 pennies and at work I could buy a little debbie oatmeal cake and coffee was free . That was my breakfast and lunch. 9xs10 he wouldnt come pick me up from work so I woud hitch /walk to his moms and she would allow me a tomato out of her garden and that was my dinner. They kept my DD while I worked and fed her well. Same as me eating out of the garbage when I was young. Where there is a will, there is a way. Just sayin...
YEp just like during the depression

anyone want more stories ? LOL Probably not. Just want you to know, Im not sad about it. Not at all. It helped make me who I am.

Too many had it too easy for too long. Having to do without is a great teacher. I fully understand. Waste not, want not.

half of Ca. expected to catch coronavirus. yall pack up and get the hell outta there.

Governor quoted a figure even higher than that. No one knows for sure as we are dealing with an unknown entity. Yet there are so many authorities - being proved wrong on a daily basis. Greatest misinformation was on the age/susceptibility statement. 40 % of those hospitalized in NY are in the 20 -60 age bracket. Morbidity in France indicates the same.

Stay safe, stay sensible, Granny lady. Okay, stay safe. :lau

I’ve heard we'll be sheltering in place by the end of the weekend. I have a doc appt. at the end of the month back in Lake Charles. It’s not my yearly, or I would just get a new doc up here. It’s a “recheck” to get my next few months of pills. The pharmacy was able to transfer one prescription for me, but the other ran into issues- the pharmacy said the doc had to send it, doc said the pharmacy had ask. I have enough of that one to last til the 31st.

Insura͏n͏ce won’t cover an exam until August. These “rechecks” are covered because the doctor orders them.
They have cancelled all my appts. I waited 2 months to see someone about my ears.

I don't want to scare people, but pretty much everyone in the country is expected to get it, if not this round, then in a few months from now. We are trying to slow the spread so there will be enough dr.s to treat all the patients at any one time. That's why I keep harping... wash your hands! don't touch your face!
The best outcome is if we slow it enough to get the anitviral meds tested and out to public.
Who gave you the idea that everyone is going to get it?

They’re saying 80% here.
Sometimes it's hard to tell if we are hearing worst case scenario or probable scenario... I really like to focus on the positive things, like the simplest way to protect yourself... stay away from people, don't touch the face, and wash the hands as soon as you get in the house. There is other good news, like the development of treatments. Company in San Francisco got exempted from the shelter in place to continue working on an antiviral medicine originally developed to fight SARS (remember that epidemic?). They are getting some regulation relief to fast track testing. If all goes well, they predict this treatment could be ready in July. It will reduce virus if you are infected and possibly will work in healthy people to prevent infection. There are other similar things being developed, many trials currently going on in some hospitals, and if we get a working one soon, it could change the entire story of this pandemic. We have reason be very hopeful.
