Granny's gone and done it again

It's a brand new virus and they still haven't gotten accurate or complete info out of China. It could be a long time before we really KNOW all there is to know about covid.

They can be pretty sure from symptoms, especially the bilateral pneumonia, that a person has covid. The lack of accurate tests is very frustrating, and I think they are trying to use the available ones to best advantage. If a person is really bad and needing a ventilator and has the other symptoms of the "cytokine storm" that's an accurate indication of covid. Flu patients do not get the immune overreaction that causes those extreme symptoms. Patients with mild symptoms are harder to diagnose, but those aren't the ones dying. Also, flu tests are readily available and used to rule out flu in most patients, so covid is then presumed. It's not a perfect system, but it's probably fairly accurate.
makes sense to me. except cytokine storm ? Is that everything hitting all at once ?
Gotta let the dogs out. BRB

My heart feels so heavy in my chest. I still havent got that new med. yet. Depression is a horrid thing. I didnt know it could get this worse so quickly. It was like, One day I was fine, then I wasnt. I miss talking to a bunch on here that isnt coming on anymore or very often, I miss cutting up w/ Twist, I miss my mind the most.
:hugs
Maybe you should give it a try. Just because one person gets a side effect doesn't mean you will. And is there actual proof that it causes ticks, or just coincidence?
Sometime the cure is worse than the problem, and sometimes the problem is worse. Hate to think you are missing out on a chance to feel better.

That's that word you didn't know...
Some people have an extreme immune response to covid, and they produce excess cytokine which causes an extreme inflammatory reaction in the lungs and other organs. They wind up with the bilateral pneumonia and kidney and liver damage and eventually failure. Not everyone reacts this way, but these are the folks that end up on the ventilators.

Ya, its caused by the meds and they have even made a med to combat what these meds can do so way more then one.
Is there a percentage? 50% might not be worth the risk, but would 15%? 10%? Chronic depression is not a good thing to live with.
I would say to try St. John's Wort. It really can help, but it also can interfere with your other meds, so I think it would be too risky. It works by clearing the neuro-chemicals that create depression, but it also will clear other chemicals that you are taking for other problems, so not good that way. I bet the dr is prescribing the best bet for you, given how many other things you have to take.
