Humm. DH and I have been married 10 years and have been raising 2 of my grandkids for 8 years, an 18-yo girl and 13-yo boy. We have 2 Shelties, a 10-yo female (Gracie, my goofball) and about a 2-yo we got for The Kid. For a while we weren't sure Sammy was going to work out bc The Kid was not really invested in him, and the dog was in serious need of training and good, consistent handling. I did basic training for a community college in another state for about 20 years but can now do it only in an advisory capacity - and a 13-yo Kid with ADHD doesn't want to be "advised," lol! But the dog is making progress and The Kid has decided he likes him, so all is turning out well. I grew up in a big city and always wanted horses. I got them at one point in my life but a divorce happened. Now I live in MO, Tick Central, USA, and I LOATHE ticks. Also my health and budget say No Horses. But chickens eat ticks and lay eggs, so ... chickens happened. And I can afford lots more chickens than horses, so yay!
We're in our mid-60's or thereabouts, live at the end of a gravel road with no near neighbors, and enjoy a rich church life. Covid-19 didn't affect us as much as it might have as we're already kind of "home-bodies" and don't get out much. BYC has been my social outlet for quite a while. I guess we're pretty boring!
