Granny's gone and done it again

I was laying here in bed and couldn't sleep. Took a pill. Still couldn't sleep because I was worried. This nonstop rain is making it chilly for the chicks. What if an extension cord got wet? They could end up with no heat. I had to go check. Turns out I was right to worry. Two jubilee Orps dead, and several chicks soaking wet. They had a light and a sweeter heater, but the ventilation and the fact that the waterer leaked all over the bedding meant they were wet and cold. Sheet. I put plywood over the ventilation, replaced the two extension cords with one longer one, put in a hotter bulb, pulled out the soaking wet puppy pad and shavings. Put in a new puppy pad, moved the water to the other end, added dry shavings. So now I lost total 3 orps and one Buff laced polish. That's really bad. I usually don't lose many chicks once they get over the first couple days. Of course I didn't lose a single Leghorn pullet out of 20. Thank goodness I checked or they might have all been dead by morning.
Good night everyone, maybe I can sleep now.
Sorry , cap

Blue,I am going to try and update you on me. Probably wont do the best job. I was taking care of my mom and she fell. I went to lift her up and popped my Achilles tendon. I was so busy w/ her I didnt take time out for myself. She passed w/me by her side after a few months on hospice at home. It was 3 months before I went to the drs. where he did surgery. It didnt get better like it should of and surgeon didnt do what he said and called it a failed surgery. So that is a constant pain.
I also have landed in the hospital a few times w/ MI . This last one was the worst. I was disabled years and years ago before all this.
I live w/ my disabled son and DH so all 3 of us are disabled here. Makes for interesting times.
Other then that I love a good joke and mostly all mine are true storys.LOL

well trying to fix the shut off valve was sort of a bust.

Picture this.

Me with 2 five gallon buckets and a foot in each one (with shoes and barley wedged in) top third of my body and arms completely inside the large pvc pipe cursing and praying that I don't drop a tool as it will never be seen again.

Erv got the giggles, that a 6 ft tall man could actually stand inside said buckets.

got it sort of apart and then off to town , 35 miles on way. Menard's was out of 3/4 inch shut off valves like I needed. So another stop then stopped at motel to get a couple different tools. NO water for a animals since last night OTHER then what was in the creek and stock tanks, Yaks were fine but those poor chickens. Had to take the valve apart and thins were looking up BUT OH NO I can't get the new valve threaded back on. So put the old valve on run up turned on the well and watered all the chickens, went back down and "giggled" the valve handle and for the most part the water has stopped in the one tire stock tank. GOOD THE FARK ENOUGH !!!! was 95* and I was shot. I really don't need this tank until about August when I separate out the golden bull and my 5 home raised/bred cows/heifers. Brought in eggs 7 days and about 30 dozen eggs HUMMM the week I was driving out and doing them I averaged 7 dozen a day. SO Rod some how has managed to cut production down of 12 dozen eggs a week. NOT AMUSED !!!

Been going since 6:30 am and my hamstrings are NOT amused either.
Good night Twist. You know it's not healthy eating one meal a day.
Actually it is healthy to just eat one meal a day.
