Granny's gone and done it again

that will work, Thanks Cap. I have some outside.
You are welcome! I just had to get my fish into a tank. Now I find out I need sea salt! Ugh. Mine lived in fresh water when I had them as a youngster. Ordering more stuff!

I was laying here in bed and couldn't sleep. Took a pill. Still couldn't sleep because I was worried. This nonstop rain is making it chilly for the chicks. What if an extension cord got wet? They could end up with no heat. I had to go check. Turns out I was right to worry. Two jubilee Orps dead, and several chicks soaking wet. They had a light and a sweeter heater, but the ventilation and the fact that the waterer leaked all over the bedding meant they were wet and cold. Sheet. I put plywood over the ventilation, replaced the two extension cords with one longer one, put in a hotter bulb, pulled out the soaking wet puppy pad and shavings. Put in a new puppy pad, moved the water to the other end, added dry shavings. So now I lost total 3 orps and one Buff laced polish. That's really bad. I usually don't lose many chicks once they get over the first couple days. Of course I didn't lose a single Leghorn pullet out of 20. Thank goodness I checked or they might have all been dead by morning.
Good night everyone, maybe I can sleep now.
That's too bad. Thank goodness you went to check. I put the plugs of my extension cords inside of old bread bags to keep them dry in the winter rains. I have a long string of extension cords running up to the Serama coop.

currently BUT he is about to get a 30 day notice. UNLESS he "pulls up his socks"
You are a nicer person than I am!

I tried to catch up earlier than this, but the computer screen has some mesmerizing spell and makes me nap sitting up. :hmm

Hot today, and we have all the doors and windows open to cool the house down. Some critters outside are making a ruckus... weird squealing sounds making Scooter bark! Great. Between that and my little laptop nap I don't anticipate much sleep tonight. :(

Last night was horrible... windows open and dang skunk stench pours into the house... we wake up coughing. :sick Then what do you do? Close the windows and trap the stench inside? Leave them open and more wafts in? Ended up leaving the down-wind windows open and closing the rest. Dang skunks are really pesky this year. We need gas masks.

And Scooter rolled in something nasty this morning, so he spent the whole day outside until I had time to wash him late this afternoon. He was pretty rank to begin with, so this bath was long overdue. My back is not happy, but my nose is!

Okay, can't think of anything else to complain about!! :D
Hope everyone is having sweet dreams.

What is Scooter? Finding nasty things to roll in was Sammy's specialty. That's the little Sheltie we got for The Kid last fall after his sister left home (she's back). So we could not just turn the dog out to do his doggy business. He had to go out on leash. Pain in the keister. Especially since former owners, instead of teaching him to come when called, taught him to ZOOM and keep away! Run, run, don't get caught! He is the fastest thing in fur I have ever seen. Worse pain! But now we have got him so he comes, yay, and we can turn him out, more yay! Still have a long way to go, but no longer thinking of re-homing him. The Kid actually likes him and takes pretty good care of him.

My barn cat dont have time for mice, he brings me coons.
....well somehow that quoted the wrong post. That meant to quote granny’s princess bride at the dentist comment.
So you haven’t seen the whole movie! Inconceivable!

peach woke up, had some water and went to lie down on the floor next to Jesse’s bed. I had to coax her to HER bed (I hatE carpet for this reason - yes the tumor bleeds sometimes poor girl)

got an email back from the breeder. Yay. On wait list for future short coats.
