Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning all. :frow Welcome Pam. Just jump right in. We're all confused, so you'll feel right at home. How are you today, Granny? I'm at the vet's with my DGD (Dear GrandDaughter, Pam) and a possibly sick cat. Sitting in the parking lot waiting our turn.

All, am I just really dumb or is it hard to follow along with what is going on in this thread? How many years of background info am I going to have to have to carry on a conversation with you folks? I ask this with a very friendly tone. Understanding that I am very new to BYC and chicken keeping but I enjoy both very much. Can you tell that since the pandemic and the heat set in that my life is pretty dull after 9:00 pm and I am disabled due to my arthritis and degenerative disc disease in my back. It’s bad. My husband doesn’t let me get far from home without him or my daughter or some other family members to lookout after me some. I use a cane. I can drive but I hurt a lot and fall some. So there are some issues. I don’t mean to sound like a pity party. Not that just that I don’t get out and do a lot by myself. We have a special needs son so we have always led quiet reserved lives where we keep more to ourselves and the home but we travel some. We choode our animals and keeping our son with us more than leaving him in the hands of someone else than traveling. He is happier with us. If he could not go where we chose to go and travel to in order to see or visit or our dogs then we didn’t go there. Anyway I sort of rambled on. Sorry guys! Now you know some about me. I got 9 chicks about 6 weeks ago to start our first back yard flock ever to have eggs because of two reasons. 1. The pandemic and 2. My husband has become allergic to the store bought white eggs. I do not know what the deal is but every time he eats a white egg especially an Eggland’s Best he gets sick from them. I would love to hear any thoughts you might have as to why you think this might be happening to him. He has no problem eating any other colored eggs. We have proved it. I hope to talk with you guys more later!
Have a good rest tonight for the second time!
Pam

No background info required. All are welcome. :hugs It does get confusing with all of the Roberts though. 😂

I’m Sharon, I’m the second youngest if Melon isn’t around, and I just moved to the city so no chickens for me at the moment. I have two kids, DD (short for Darling Daughter) and Bubba. A few members are particularly fond of bubba because they’ve vicariously raised him. :love I have been married 14 years to DH (Dear Husband).

I have two big dogs, two orange cats, two hermit crabs, and a big red squirrel. During the pandemic I was gifted a big collection of orchids, so they are my current hobby. I also enjoy crocheting, quilting, and most other crafty type things.

Some of us are also friends on Facebook, so we get to be extra nosy. 😂 My Facebook is private so I share more details there than I do here, on a public forum.

The kids and dogs, and then the kids last week with my mother-in-law.

Thank you Sharon. Lovely Children. Great pic. Have a great week and nice to meet all of you!

There are nice beaches on the gulf coast, esp. in Alabama and the panhandle. Louisiana is mostly muck and marsh, in my experience. I haven’t visited enough of the Texas coast, but what I’ve seen wasn’t great. If we want a nice beach, we go on a cruise. Even if you find a gulf beach with nice sand, the water still looks like chocolate milk. 😂
Mississippi River has a huge impact on the Gulf. I didn't realize how bad things have gotten... too much stuff in that river water that doesn't belong causing the sludgy water you are talking about. My folks lived in Pensacola, Florida in BC (before children) and I grew up hearing wonderful stories of how nice it was and all the fish and wildlife. Hopefully there are still some nice areas around.

Mr krusty Krab tried to escape tonight!Hubs caught him on the filter inlet hose. May need to fab up some screen for there...
Pro, how does that fish get out of the sushi shack? Way to go forward? Maybe it would like a cave or something.

Cap, your quote got lost, but you and granny were talking about the mushroom that came up on her tomato and you said there are some strange fungi out there.
Have you ever seen this?

Dead man's foot. People use it to dye wool.

He turns himself around. He’s got a half pipe and plenty of other places to hide - he just loves that sushi bar.
So krusty Krab did escape sometime overnight. Found him on the floor by the sofa. Little bugger. Hubs put him back in after griping about how he was covered in peach fur.
Yeah. I haven’t vacuumed. Oops.

edit as the intro to other Pam: I don’t know where I am in the age spectrum lol downhill towards 40 anyway, and it’s me, my always wrenching hubs, my doggo Peach (yes we’re dealing with cancer, no we don’t have much longer), bunch of fish and one krusty Krab, and right now I’ve got three separate coops - got the main coop with six girls, grow out coop with a broody and three bitties, and four other chicks in a garage brooder. Can’t wait til the brooder babies are old enough to not need mamas heat and I can toss all the bitties together and boot mama back to the main coop! Broke one of my waterers this morning so yikes. Anyway. Back to work. Don’t wanna.

Nope, but it sure looks gross!

Looks like a cow pile to me.
Hi all, Sorry I have been MIA I just am feeling a little down I guess. I have enjoyed reading everyone though and how sweet is it you guys stepping up to help Pam?
Nurse says Toms foot is looking good. A stitch is missing but its still closed. surgeons visit wed.
Roberts bleeding intensified last night so he woke me . I crashed in the sucker chair after that. He is still sleeping .
I am mentally wore out.
love yall

Thanks H20

Some lady brought me from a food give a way. There around 25/30 lbs a bag.
You got 125 to 150 POUNDS of chicken? Where the heck did you put it? I'd have to clean out the small chest freezer to fit that much. Then it would be there almost forever because chicken is not a favored food by a couple of people living here.

well lately he has been drinking 6 to 12 cans of regular soda a day and then ramen noodles lately because they are "easy"
And one needs to ask why the astronauts in the space station have to look up to see his BP and blood sugar levels? :th

It's hard to believe a snake got in here....
Why? Easily large enough holes for a snake or weasel.

Hubby would never go for that unless there was no gasoline.
You are in luck, four legged mules don't use gasoline :)

Huzzah, NOW it's food!
With a super high sodium content!!

OH and caught one of my monthly renters cutting some of MY Asian lilies and taking them to his room.
Well aren't WE the entitled one! I hope he got the message. Wait all year for those Asian lilies to bloom.

Females have the right to change our minds about anything.
Seems like equality would suggest that all people have that right!

I’m Sharon, I’m the second youngest if Melon
OK, now I am confused and I've been following along for a fair bit of time, who is Melon? My guess is that Alley is the youngest member here.

Same as my brother. Do you tip over a lot?
No, should I? Does your brother?

Have you ever seen this?
No and I wouldn't have guessed it was a fungus. Looks like a rotted tree stump.
