Granny's gone and done it again

Beautiful foggy morning here this morning.. I love sitting next to the brooder and watching the babies scratching around for their food. Took the egg holder out as they sent most of the food to the floor.. They even do it with the regular feeder too.. But I sit there and watch them do their little chickie things.. Gator next to me getting his rubs, and Lilbit on the other side getting his tummy rubbed. Not quite sure if Gator was a bit jealous but he stepped over my legs (I was sitting cross legged on the floor) and he plopped his big sorry butt in my lap. Then gave me a big kiss. He's so chill around the babies.

9 eggs and counting in SP's clutch, still no signs of broodiness, but at least she's keeping them all together in a clutch and not all over the pen. 3 eggs and counting in the hen house.

YAY, Woot!! Looks like we have 'lift off' in progress... SP is in sitting on her eggs! She sang the song of peoples earlier this morning, came out to eat with Henri, and is now back in the barrel sitting on the eggs! She apparently appreciated the change of bedding plus the addition of some nice smelling dried grass to the mix. She's picking stuff up and moving it around.

But now, a question... I had thought of moving Mollie (the smallest of the black ladies) in with Henri and SP. Can I still do it, orrrrrrrr will fights ensue and SP stop sitting? She's not interested in breeding now. And no, she's not hissy or growly, she's still my sweet Sweetpea.. Henri is hopping in and out of the barrel checking on her.

Well, I moved her since SP was out and about.. dangit. Bruiser wasn't happy with me robbing the hen coop in the least little bit.. came at my legs... but isn't that what he's supposed to do to protect his flock? A nice nudge with my foot kept him in check.
Mollie in with Henri and SP.. Lord, never heard SP being so vocal before.. but Mollie seems to tolerate Henri much better than Bruiser. She liked Charlie Sheen better than Bruiser and was always laying next to him by the netting. But Charlie is also humungous so with her being a much smaller boid, I stuck her in with Henri cause he's not as big as the two BSL roos. He did his goofy dance.. cause he's still limping. When that died down I went out with the foot soak.. ya shoulda hear all the beak chatter from him. He was actually enjoying getting a warm soak and foot massage. And took his CS like a champ today!
P.S. I heard growly sounds coming from SP today.. so she must be getting ready to sit those eggsies.. just not quite ready.

Oh my aching feet. I bought a hand welded wind spinner from a lawn mower blade. It need painting. I didnt eat. No one else wanted to. It was crazy huge there. Parking was a mess. Lots of people got stuck in mud. I parked sideways in the grass and when we left there was a huge line of cars parked long ways where I was. Made me look like the best parallel parker in the world. Not worth the trip. I only seen 3 people I knew. The grass I parked in was up past my knees.

So good to be home inside with the ac on! The chickens are all put away. Going out soon to check food and water.
