Granny's gone and done it again

I dont understand you wanting to see the eye of the storm. That means you have to go through the worst of the bad . Like a tornado.
Actually the eye of a hurricane is almost like a lull. Sunny skies, very little wind at all. Had a few pass over us when I lived in Florida. Gives you a false sense of security for a while, then the backside of the storm hits like a ton of bricks.

Went to get coffee, Made food for the babies, grabbed Toms meds and breakfast for him, had to heat coffee up then realized dogs were out of water. Coffees probably cold now. LOL
I have those moments too! Start off doing one thing that leads to another and another until I have to stop and think about what was I going to do in the first place. I do get a lot done in those spurts.

That’s my whole day.

That’s my whole day.
So, I went out to get a few shelving racks to make a hip roof over the far end of the brooder where the perch and sand box are... While I was out there I laid out the 4 X 4's I had with one 2 x 4... found out I don't have enough room that's flat to do two side by side (thereby only using 3 4 x 4's. So I need to add one of those to my list. They will be end to end now instead of side by side.
Used a couple of adjustable window screens not currently in use to cover the brooder. I saw one of the chicks trying to escape.. Won't be long now since they all have wing feathers and are flitting from one end of the brooder to the other. The roosting, sand box play area has a hip roof on it. I'll just cover the open ends with towels to make it appear inescapable.

Oh, and since Charlie and Henrietta kept knocking the food tray off the cinder block it was sitting on in spite of having a piece of concrete in there to weigh it down, I took a coffee can (red plastic) in there and dumped their food in it. (Henri and SP have the same set up and seem to like it). Brought the tray up to the back deck, filled it with bird seed and covered them with water. Gonna make sprout mats to put in the coops for the biggies to munch on.

Will you explain "sprout mats" to someone who never heard of em and doesn't have a clue, please? Oh, not me of course. Asking for, um, a friend. 😉🤣

Saw a woman in the path of the hurricane being interviewed because she won't evacuate. She has a one-story house and wants to stay to protect it when the roof blows off. Expected storm surge will be 15 feet at least. Her house is under ten feet. What is she thinking? My heart hurts for her. I hope she survives.
