I have live plants in my tanks to absorb nitrates and some in the hang on back filter. Ferts for the plants and cleaner water for the fish. Does that count ?Has anyone here besides me tried hydroponics or aquaponics?

Where where, I don't see nuffin'!This is George, my young Black Jersey Giant, next to one of my year-old EE hens last night. He matured rather slowly compared to the Black Australorp cockerels I got at the same time (who are all now in the freezer) but he is getting some nice size to him now. I just love him. He's calm and well-behaved. I think he's about 30 weeks old. The older rooster keeps him in line but he is breeding some of the hens and pullets.
Exactly what aquaponics is based on. I have cement mixing tubs I use for hydroponics.. I learned how to make a bell siphon which is pretty easy.. Next step is just putting some goldie fish in the tub below the plant tubs. I'll have to build a new rack since I left the old one at the last place.I have live plants in my tanks to absorb nitrates and some in the hang on back filter. Yes indeed.. Once the tub fill up enough, the bell raises up and the draining begins.. the bell goes back down and the tub begins to fill again. Is the bell siphon the one that dont require electric ?
