I used to raise them as pets, about 30 yrs ago. Am thinking of it now, as food. Not sure yet.

Male guinea pigs smell really rank. I made the mistake of getting one for a child as a pet once. Never again! Even cleaning the cage daily, the stench was unbearable to me!
