Granny's gone and done it again

I worked with dogs up to ten years old and corrected behavior problems. In most cases, it's a matter of "a failure to communicate," to borrow a line from Cool Hand Luke.

LOL the thing I remember the most about that was the hard boiled egg eating contest.

Whow! We must be doing something right cause our young cattle dogs are almost 2 and still training and responding to us.

We have a couple who like to 'pogo' in front of us and almost knock us down. One likes to run and jump in our arms. Thank goodness they are small red heelers.

I'm going to try that walk towards them till they sit down.
I didn't say they sit down. I said they quit jumping on you. Reward with touch, a pat or an ear scratch and your voice and smile when all four feet are on the ground. I also don't believe in that high-pitchd squeaky baby voice as a reward, either. It hypes them up and gets them jumping on you again. A calm, quiet "gooooood boy" works better.

Does that work on men too ?
