Granny's gone and done it again

It appears to have been used on top of wood stove as humidifier, it is crusted with hard-water minerals. Right now it's in the oven seasoning.
sometimes you have to season them 2 - 4 times. That is a great find. Iron is the best. Never thought to bake bread in it though. I do use iron skillets, and wish I had an iron dutch oven.
 
Mine is rusted
This one is too and I could not get all the minerals out but I think I can save it. Google is your friend. I will probably have to lay down several layers of seasoning (Solid Crisco) but I have saved a couple of skillets, so I'm optimistic.
