Granny's gone and done it again

Looks really good. I like that you used pecan halves. When I made them back in the 60's I used pecan pieces but your's looks prettier I think.
Thank you, Pert. I started with 2.5 c halves, set aside 1 c and chopped the remaining 1.5 c. I poured the filling over the chopped nuts and sprinkled the halves over the top. I agree it looks prettier, but it actually made it a little harder to cut and eat. Although it was stll a little warm when I cut it. Might have been okay on Day 2, cold.. I dono. 🤷‍♀️

I haven't caught up for today, so Blue's post is marking where I left off.

The pullets were delivered this morning. They are nicely tamed and used to people. Very lovely group.
I'm really happy with them! :wee

The blue pullet is not a Wyandotte! I'm happy about that as the 2 I've had were grumpy and not great layers, small eggs too.

So, any guesses on her breed?
No, but I love it that you have a Big Blue Hen! 🤣

Well, Granny I hope it doesn't take much to fix your van. I got my well fixed today. Don't know the damages yet. Said they would send me a bill but figured it would be about 750. Seems I always get caught with my britches down around Christmas time.
Thanks Pert. I am glad you got it fixed.
See ! How can people Not tell you what it is gonna cost til their done ? Maybe you dont have that much and then what ?
Its the not knowing if I am going to even have the $ to get it fixed is killing me.

Well, Pert. Pour the kids a glass of water and tell them merry Christmas and I will HOPEfully take the boys for a ride .
What we both need to do is go back to the old way when you woke up Christmas morning and found a brown paper bag next to your bed with some fruit and maybe a couple pieces of candy in it.. Tell them the story of whos birthday it really is and maybe make it up to them next month.
