We ate kale today too! (Just for the rd mcord, I don't much care for the stuff.) I chopped and fried some turkey bacon in a little olive oil. Chopped some garlic into it, cooked it a few minutes till tender. Added chopped kale, sprinkled w a little s/p. Tossed and cooked just a few minutes. Turned off heat, squeezed a lime over it. It was quite good. Still chewy, as kale is, but at least I was willing to eat it, lol.

I'm not a huge fan either. We grow it year round... for the chickens!

I was just wondering if I'd missed the Goose pics, and there he is! Thanks, Star! He grows inches daily, and matures with it as well. So fun to watch him grow. What's he learning?

He’s getting good with “sit”. “Touch” (nose to my open hand) is when he’s in the mood only - sometimes he thinks touch is bite :/ still working on the chompy-ness :/ we’re getting better with “drop it” and he is getting better with mealtimes too. He went through a food guarding phase, and now he sits and kinda waits (I still have to put a hand on his chest but he will wait with that whereas earlier it was absolute panic there was food in his dish he MUST get it...) until I “release” him. Now I have him looking at me before I tell him all done. It’s still the beginning - but...progress.

Oh, before I go, two things. The kid at GirlChild's job, who lost his sense of taste, reported back (by phone? I don't know. I hope so!) that he has tested negative. I'm hoping he has to test neg again before he can report back for work.

And the county where this fast-food place is located, the next county over from us, has been declared EXTREME RISK category now, rather than just "critical," which it was just two weeks ago. This is the county where we shop. Or ... have always shopped. Until now ....

I really want to tell my kid to quit her job and stay home till this over. Or until we get vaccinated. Or crawl in a hole and pull it in around us, lol! But I know we can't do that. Ugh. I just want this to be OVER. I want to feel SAFE. And for my family and loved ones to be safe. A lady at our sister church has tested positive, we learned today. We share a pastor. Sigh.

Good day everyone. Already went grocery shopping with hubby, stopped at the local feed store and then got a Xmas tree. Put the groceries away , and got changed into farm clothes. Going out to free the chickens soon.
I have one bantam chicken hatched and another pipped. Day 21.
Sunny today and mid 40s so far. I called Dept of highways to report the large dead tree completely blocking the road to town.
What are you guys up to?

I'm doing last minute curbside pickup at fabric store--sewing all day tomorrow! cold and sunny today! filling woodracks. congrats on the new chicks!
