I can understand that. High here is only suppose to be 23 F. My quail are indoors, so that is one problem I don't have to worry about. My waterers are frozen solid. That’s a first this winter. My duck pools had a huge ice piece over them. I took that off so that all of my outside animals That I’m allowing to free range today (Guineas, cats, ducks chickens) can get a drink of water. I had to put the rabbit and the quail a cup of water since there was no hope in getting them unfrozen anytime soon. View attachment 2463022

I have 21 right now, Only 12 of them are kept as breeding stock. So, soon will be culling 9, but have 60 eggs in the incubator.Just 10 right now.
How often do you "replace" your breeders?I have 21 right now, Only 12 of them are kept as breeding stock. So, soon will be culling 9, but have 60 eggs in the incubator.
I’m waaaay overdue to replace my flock!IF Everything goes right with this hatch. I will replace them in about 8 weeks. About once a year you should replace the females, and about every 6 months for the males. That way you have a good hatch rate on your eggs.
Yeah, I was thinking that when you posted your problems.I’m waaaay overdue to replace my flock!![]()
