Granny's gone and done it again

Prob was corrected by squirted with hose. The dog I got back last year doesn’t like the hose.
I'm assuming you meant pro was caused by squirted with hose. The story I got from Humane Society was the dog was brought in by the mother. It had been bought on a whim by family after seeing a sign Puppies for sale at the end of a farm lane. She was tired of the dog being left chained out in the back yard being harassed by her 3 sons. Pretty sure the dog was chased with water hose with no escape. Always wished I could have thanked that mom. Other than that one quirk, my mutt Sophie was the best dog I ever shared life with.

Do you have any idea how well they socialized him at the shelter? My pups start meeting new people at 5 weeks.
It is definitely also genetic.

I'm not sure, 5wks is a good time to start, but most people don't get their dogs home and into the world until 8-10wks old. I don't feel that any of his issues stem from lack of socialization. I think he's just a bit of a genetic wreck.

That’s where a good breeder is vital. Where the puppies in the shelter or someone’s home. I see a lot of shelter find people to take the pregnant dog and raise the puppies. Was your puppy neutered before you got him?

He was raised in a foster setting 2 days after he was born. He stayed in the fosters house until 8wks, then was brought back to the shelter for adoption.

Sadly, he was neutered the day before we brought him home... personally I'd opt to not neuter, or wait until a year old.. but oh well.

Good breeders are wonderful people.. gotta love em.. They produce dogs with sound temperments.. oh would I kill to have a dog with a sound temperment some days.. haha

Hey, I am glad he got you as a parent. He is a lucky dog. Is your dog a boy? I keep saying he.

Yes my GSD has stopped chewing on his legs. That happened within a week of my getting him. Now he is 90 lbs of love, looking to please and learn, and loves a good romp in the snow.
Love to hear that. He is a lucky dog to have you as a parent. So glad he is out of that situation. Sad that he had to be tortured by kids. Does he like kids?
