Northern corn bread is high, sweet and fluffy, almost like cake. The way folks eat it around here, it is short, heavy, dense, dry and baked in a skillet. I cook it for The Man but I don't eat it. At least I try to but the stuff insists on rising no matter how hard I try not to let it.no idea, your talking to a "northerner" is there a difference ?? Nothing in the cornbread like peppers or GOD forbid kernels of corn. Just plain.
