Pert, how do you kill the little buggers? I gave up on squash bc of them. Granny they are shaped like a shield and there will be a bunch of em.

They're hard to beat. I used soapy water which helped some. Then I sprinkled 7 dust on the ground around the stems. They say if you wait until later in the year to plant the bugs will have given up and moved on. Apparently they emerge from wherever expecting a feast. If it's not there they move out. Never tried that method.

I just want tomatoes. I am going to look for some patio type this yr and see if they will do better then what I had.

OMG so Spud fell asleep with his head hanging over the the small wood border and now has his nose planted in a squashed/flattened puppy tootsie roll. Guess he is either REALLY tired or his sense of smell is not so good yet.

I had the bright yellow ones one year OMG did they produce squash.

We had dark green ones last year, called Scallopini.
