yeah they don't. That dog probably had littermates or a parent that was merle. Not an accepted color in the breed and was introduced. Not pure bred

Well its more than just the breed standard, and white shepherds are a GSD color.. just not accepted. Merle isn't a color in that breed at all.

That isn't merle color. There are no merels in Schnauzers...it's black/white. Maybe the camera angle makes it look merely. I had a merele Dachshund years ago. Different. Here's another photo.

I love the blue eye. I had a dog once with white eyes. They said he would go blind but he never did.

Papered doesn't mean much, as its easy to lie on a pedigree and then get papers. Do you know the parents? Usually a blue eye is because the merle gene was introduced.

you can only find out by doing a DNA test (for coat, not breed)

White Schnauzers are known to have blue eyes also. Black ones also.
