Granny's gone and done it again

WHAT A FARK UP> neither Rod or Vicki have a clue as to the names of the royals. Vicki has been claiming that Polka is the mother. Well Polka is still pretty rotund and there was no calf by/with her today when I got out there. Maiah (way off by herself) finally sort of joins the herd and there is a little following her.

SO one of the following has happened

1) Maiah was the actual mother
2) Maiah stole/adopted the calf as we just weaned for the second time Eeyore off her on Tuesday.
3) Vet got Maiah and Polka mixed up as to who was going to calf in the summer and who in the spring
4) I wrote the vet info down wrong.

Also Maiah's calves have always had a white strip on thier muzzel , this done does not. But also Tibbits and NOT Porter is a sire.

Maiah looks thinner and definitely not ROTUND like Polka

THUS MY HEAD HURTS !!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) they are cool
2) you can keep 3 adults on the same amount of land as one cow
3) Winter hardy as all they really need as windbreaks ( I have barns/sheds) they can use
4) Yaks are 'cool"
5) for selling as feeders/breeders/and at some point an eater for me/here.
6) fiber possible in the future.

7) NOT I repeat NOT crazy enough to ever try and milk them.

did I mention the coolness factor.

Meat is healthier then skinless chicken breast and has the "good" fats. In fact some people who cant digest "regular/normal" meat have no issues with yak meat.

NOT as dry as Bison meat either.
