Were you an only child, Wishing, so it was just you and your parents in that house? How old were you when you moved into something bigger?

That 2 room house was built around 1900. We never lived in that. My family bought the farm in 1970, complete with a large farm house built around 1910ish, where we lived. About 25 yrs ago my parents built a new house on the property. Farm house is empty now and we don't use the old workshop. That got moved into the barn.

I have a brother and a sister. Both live about 15 minutes from me.

I have been meaning to ask you. What is the significance of "Prostar"? How did you come up with that name?

that is awesome! Hard to think of you living there with a family. It looks like the chicken coop I lived in. Bout the same size. Mine was on stilts in the front and backed up to a train track. (you got used to the trains)

I spent a lot of time in there as a kid building stuff. I tried to imagine what it would have been like. Cozy is one word for it! The original homestead was over 40 acres, so they started small and built what they needed when they could. They grew strawberries and ran sheep and then cattle before we bought it. There were Chinese workers tending the strawberries back in the 20's. Sometimes we would find old bottles and clay marbles in the creek that apparently came from the old outhouses that were also used as garbage dumps.

I wouldnt mind a tiny house like that if it was just me. Of course it would need electric and plumbed.

It's crazy how everything has gotten bigger - houses, cars, etc. I mean, if you have a SINGLE KID and you don't have a big bloated SUV...well how can you do it? Trying to buy a new house? Not going to find anything under 1500 square feet, and even that's TEENY TINY compared to what they're building nowadays.

(meanwhile, my parents handled we two girls just fine in a volvo sedan....)
