Granny's gone and done it again

I agree with you h2oratt. We hear that mournful cow call every time a calf is weaned or....when lady cow is looking for a boy cow to party hearty with.

I once asked a neighbor if he could give us a heads up when he is contemplating weaning calves so we can be 'away' that weekend.

He just laughed and said that is what he did, pull the calves and left for the weekend.

the grass is pretty. I think its the first time I have seen it green. hahaa Hows the new chicken doing?
She's doing fine. Inserted herself into the flock with minimal fuss. They are all getting along and she sticks near the blue Australorp. Hope she lays soon. Hope any of them lay soon! We need a few days of sun.

The big question is what is going on between producer and grocery store to make the prices go up in the first place
Increased fuel costs, lack of workers, inflation, and quite probably greed. The farmers getting squeezed out of fair market price has been going on for a long time. There is talk of breaking up the meat packers monopoly. We'll see if the pols can get anything useful done.

I'd cut that while it's still green. I waited so now I'm stuck with tall brown grass I'm afraid to cut because we have a humidity of 24% or so and high winds usually and under a fire watch. I'm always hitting rocks with my mower blades and all it would take is one spark to get it started
Boo for tall brown grass. Maybe you will get a big storm or some hail to knock it down.
We are waiting for it to dry out a bit. Hubs did mow some out front and it looked like globs of green mush. We don't have much to mow. Lot of big oaks keep the grass down and the chickens help mow too.

It is very cruel

In congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH), a mutation (genetic change) causes the adrenal glands to make too little cortisol. In the most common type of CAH, called 21-hydroxylase deficiency, the adrenal glands also might not make aldosterone.
Always thought hyper meant too much.
