Granny's gone and done it again

probably
except for losing electric Im kinda excited about it. I want to spend days snowed in . for at least a week anyway. Robert brought the snow shovel inside.
I hope the snow doesn't get deep enough that it comes in the doors and windows!

My cousin told me years back they got 4 ft of snow here. Said when they finally were able to scrape the roads you couldnt see anything. Like you were in a tunnel
My Dad's family had a tunnel from the house to the barn when he was a kid! Through the snow.

what is everyones worst weather related experince?
When i was a kid, the power went out for 3 days. There had been a heavy snowfall, and then an ice storm. Luckily, we had a camping stove and a fireplace. We mostly lived in front of the fireplace.

what kind of story is that with the middle missing?
Morning all, eye feels better. fastest sty ever? Maybe I had something in it. anyway. it feels ok today. just a lil tender.
Congrats on the sale Cap!
Just touch the fuzzy part, Granny and you can read it.

You need a big truck Granny!
Big trucks do not mean better snow/ice stability. Pickup trucks actually suck in crappy weather - unless you have a good amount of weight in the bed.

Best handling vehicle in inclement weather was actually my front wheel drive Mazda 3. Yeah depth could be an issue - but with *PROPER WINTER TIRES* that thing was so predictable and handled it well.

Bad weather? Well. When we lived in ottawa, we were in suburbia. Not much front yard between your driveway and your neighbors. As such, by the end of winter our snowbanks were as tall as if not taller than our minivan.

Worst driving? Have had a lot. Drive by Braille cause the snow was blowing so bad and visibility was zero. Black ice everywhere. Pea soup thick ice fog (and all the idiots that don’t turn on their lights) And summer has its place too. Hail. Driving home through insane thunderstorms while tornado warnings are coming on over the radio…yeah that was fun. Rain coming down so hard the wipers can’t keep up and visibility is horrible.

When I did a surprise trip to see the hubs when I was still living in Alberta the trip down the weather gods smiled upon me. The way back…however….I think was it near Helena, mt the storm started. Or maybe it was great falls. Kinda the last bigger city along the 15. Visibility went to heck and the slippery conditions were real. Bear in mind this was year five on my amazing awesome winter tires that were on my car October through to May every year and I was doing 100 miles a day for a commute…so they were well past their prime. I was pushing them though, cause I knew that was my last winter up north and I didn’t want to spend more money on tires for one season. Thought about finding a place to spend the night but pushed through and by the time I got to sweetgrass I was tired and burnt out that I just kept driving. That was a long, tiring day of driving but peach and I did make it all the way back home…got there pretty late, but somehow made it.

Edit. There was a week period where there were two snowstorms in a row in Alberta. I’ll find pics. The first one closed down the highways and I missed two days of work - was pretty intense. Snowdrifts bigger than Peach! The second one was just zero vis and I was a horrible employee and did call in snow days. Work wasn’t worth my car or my life.

Now I must quest for those pics.

This was a little bit later but still. Ok. Power is out battery is low and I gotta get up early tomorrow. Peace!
