I have heard that it can happen because the colony of bees gets too large too. Some will leave to try to build a new colony. Seems like you’re dad truck just happened to get in between the cross fire. Whatever caused them to starve is pretty sad, nonetheless, though. That’s just the harsh reality of nature. So ruthless.Good! The ones that got on dads truck!
Well the friend came today to take them. He said he wouldn't. They are a starving swarm. He said there is no telling how long they had been in the field looking for a place to build a hive and couldn't find one. Since they eat their own honey, and wont produce it without a hive, they are starving. He said the swarm is already so small some must have already died. So sad to see honeybees die because of stuff like that.

Its really too late. They wont eat anything, even nectar, until they have a hive. Which they do not have. Already a pile of dead ones under the truck.Can’t you feed them
