I feel like my dogs would gobble the littles too, if they got the chance! They go nuts when we go into the bedroom (our "Spare Oom, as Star would say) to clean their bins and fill food and water, so we lock them in a different room while we tend to chores. After about five weeks when they look like chickens Gracie will guard them and Sammy has no interest whatsoever. We had poppies blooming in March! Lot have gone to seed and round 2 is blooming everywhere. This will go on for a few more months. Hope your seeds grow for you.
Those little meaties are too cute to eat! When I was a kid we had a big dog, real sweetheart, never bothered any of the farm animals... except for fluffy chicks. If he had the chance, he would gobble them like hors d'oeuvres! They were safe once they got some feathers.
