Granny's gone and done it again

Another OE. The second OE to die on me. She is the one that was in my previous pfp. The only one with brown eyes. The one I really loved. 😞

Very weird death too. She was fine the night before but was found dead under the roost the following morning. No sign of trauma at all. She was laying on her back with her feet stretched out. None of her crop contents came up. No wounds, no blood, no weird smells. Her crop was empty (as it should, since she didn’t get the chance to eat that morning). With that being said, I have no idea what caused her death. Perhaps I should’ve done an autopsy. Oh and she was still laying eggs regularly, so don’t think it was a reproductive issue. It wasn’t particularly hot or cold that day either. Perhaps it was heart failure. Whatever it was, my sweetie didn’t deserve it, she didn’t even make it to her first birthday. 😕

Thank you.
Oh golly Cherry, I hope it wasn't AI. 🙏🙏🙏

Sounds like the heart. :hugs :(

Harvesting sure is fun. Perhaps I’ll put together a salad one of these days. Goats enjoyed some too.
