It really broke her heart. She basically watched him starve. Her milk had dried up.

Oh wow, lucky it was just one. Sometimes they come in bunches.
I had to take Tom to the er because of one but while I was removing it the head broke off and stayed in his skin so they numbed him up and had to cut it out. He even got a stitch

In 2019 we went to a family reunion at a camp in Kentucky. There were various walking trails to be enjoyed. I went on a several mile hike and when I came back it felt like my skin was crawling. I went to our cabin and investigated. I ended up finding 182 ticks on myself and my clothes. Most of the ticks were pinhead size, we decided I must have walked through a tick nursery.

It took me several hours to rid myself and my clothes of the ticks.
