Granny's gone and done it again

For a clearer stock, simmer, don't boil.

Just as when you're making stock for soups or stews, boiling will cause soluble proteins and rendered fat to emulsify into the cooking liquid. By simmering, you avoid emulsifying the fat and thus keep the stock clearer, and we found that the scum created simply settled to the bottom of the pot.
 
I believe bone broth saved Bandits life. He had parvo and was staying at the vets. I went to the meat market and asked for bones. I took some to the vets office where he was very much still sick and fed it to him that evening abd by morning he was ready to come home where I continued it for 2 days til he was able to eat.
