Well it's good you can get out amongst them again. Look out, here comes Wishing.
I went up and seen my brother in hospice this morning. He's laying there looking nearly like a corpse. I don't understand the hospice mantra. Once there, you're not given a chance to survive. No food, no water. You're basically just on display until you starve to death. I'd sooner have a bullet in the brain.

That's terrible, Pert. My mom passed from terminal cancer over 15 yrs ago. At the time it wasn't legal here to opt to end your own life. She would have if she had the choice. We kept her at home and nursed her til the end. Hospice came a couple times a week and were a huge help to us, but it was all very hard.
So sorry about your brother. Feeling helpless like that is the hardest thing.

I'm pretty sure he was ready to go on. He was telling all his visitors at the nursing home tllo go away I just want to sleep, there at the end.

Try this for the mites. Easy peezy! I would do it all over, or spot treat.. usually bum. But this stuff works! You can find it at pet stores, because it's for mites on small birds. Works on small birds? I thought, should work on chickens. Yep. Like no other! I put it on the butt, tummy, chest, back, back of neck, under neck, under wings, legs if needed. Never had a problem with my chickens getting mites on legs. Cheap..easy...works! View attachment 3189904

What?!? What kind of junk is that??? I mean keep ‘em comfortable, medicated how they need to be, is he physically unable to eat and is he on iv fluids/feeding tube at least?

Mom decided when she was done too. Last words she ever spoke was "No, I think I will wait til tomorrow" and sure enough....

thats normal for hospice if they cant eat on their own. Feeding them just prolongs it. It sounds harsh

oh yes, I remember that. It was in an eye dropper. that and another for the rattle she would get. Its no wonder Im not more bat shat crazy then I am.
